Like pop-up windows. But more and more publishers are abandoning the
pop-up windows because of their attention-grabbing qualities.

What war? People with older browsers can install ad killers. People
with newer browsers can customize style sheets. Thus, those people do
not even have to "learn" to ignore any formats. They are not bothered
by ads (Flash or not). "What Flash?" they asked.
