For several years now, on Mac OS browsers you've been able to simply click
on the window's title bar with a modifier key and immediately get clickable
hierarchy from the root/homepage, just as like breadcrumbs but without
having to do any coding.

Another improvement along the same lines, is the "flip-back" button
introduced by the Safari browser. That allows you to designate any page as
an anchor, to which you can automatically return no matter how far you've
navigated at a site. (This is automatically assigned whenever you get to a
new site as well.)
