Axiom: It is difficult to believe employers will find any candidates at
the pay-for-membership AlfIA who are not already subscribed to the free
SIGIA list.

To present AlfIA on SIGIA as the "only professional organization solely
dedicated to information architecture professionals" is less than
accurate and certainly subversive to the aims of this list.

It would be more accurate to understand AlfIA board members as dedicated
to promoting themselves.

Attempting to 'hi-jack entry' into IA-related jobs from employer's
existing methods is an obvious tactic from the same tactless crew who
founded AlfIA *in secret.*

The last thing IA will prosper from is an Amway Corporation
(http://amway.com/) type 'set-up' where only those on the
top-of-the-pyramid will receive reward at the expense of others.

I find it more likely you do not hold high enough of an opinion of IA to
consider candidates who are NOT part of your social/professional
network, so that the *best person* for the job is NOT your concern, only
those who satisfy your ego-network.

This clique and pyramid-scheme behavior is subversive to the IA
discipline, and (like inbreeding), produces a poor foundation upon which
to build.

Good luck.
