I think "most definitely not."
DUX is designed to meet the need for having 'diverse audience' conferences.
But, we still need specific professional community audiences, and the IA
Summit is a great forum for information architects to get together and talk
about information architecture. There is *no other* venue for that.
Conferences need to be very careful about wanting to be all things to all
people.
I do think that we should continue to find non-IAs to play particular roles
at the IA Summit, like we had Stewart Brand give the keynote, and Mark
Bernstein's contribution was invaluable. But I strongly feel that the IA
summit should *not* be a general user experience conference.
