That's what Microsoft has been murmuring about for its upcoming Longhorn OS.
Of course this notion of non-app specific info "soup" was the basis of
Apple's Newton OS a decade earlier. Nevertheless, MS will introduce it as a
breakthrough and it will probably be as elegant as Outlook. :-) Can Haystack
succeed? Hint: it's called "the *universal* information client."
