Last year, while I was unemployed, I volunteered to update and automate my
local area Civic Planning orgs website.  The idea I had in mind was to make
their local business listing more dynamic and information rich.  I had
planned to create a db that would store the businesses information and was
going to use PHP to pull the info in to the pages.  Due to their ISP never
getting back to me on some serious technical questions I had, I was never
able to get much past planning phases before I found work.  Now I am
thinking maybe I will simply use a small blog package like Movable Type or
Drupal.  I'm not sure how useful these will be except for, perhaps, vendors
having discussions with customers online.

Essentially, I was hoping to deliver a www.metromix.com type of online app,
but don't have the time any longer to sit down and build one out.

What it needs to do is list categories of businesses with each category
pulling a list from a db when clieck then list the businesses in each
category and when a business is clicked presents a blurb on the business,
contact info, address, description of business, etc.

Does anyone have any background, suggestions, ideas?
