Came across http://www.axure.com/ today (they bought a Google text
ad for "information architecture") and was intrigued by what I saw
(and even more surprised that I hadn't heard of it before and there
was no results when I searched the list archives).
They have a product called "Ubiquity RP" that "reduces the time and
effort for defining web applications while producing effective specifications
and a unique descriptive prototype that truly validates requirements
between customers, designers, developers, and testers."
Basically, you can write your specifications, do task analysis, write
use cases, design the sitemap, and drag-and-drop to create (annotated)
wireframes and functional prototypes, all within one program. Looks
pretty nifty.
Plus, on their home page, it says how they are "embracing the IA
community" -- http://www.axure.com/iamessage.aspx
I'm wondering if anyone has heard anything else about the company/software,
or if anyone has tried it out yet. (Oh, did I forget to mention
that they have a free 30-day trial @http://www.axure.com/downloadtrial.
aspx ?)
Please note that I'm not affiliated with the company, I'm just a
curious practitioner who is wondering if the software/company is
as good as it seems...
