I wanted to stay off this thread, but I can't help it-- drawn to the light--

I would like to see this list moderated, I do not necessarily want to see a
moderated list.

A list with clear guidelines and rules that everyone understands, and that
folks can be kicked off for violating (after multiple warnings) is all that
is needed probably. A moderated list will lose its vibrancy if the
moderators slacken (though this list is still kicking pretty hard... Dick is
clearly on top of things so far).

But I think rules for genial conduct are needed, especially if people can't
figure out to find a way to make their points rationally and have to descent
to namecalling and flamebaiting.
