Good Afternoon,
Long time lurker, first time poster. I would have to cast myself with the "list moderation"=censorship crowd and look the the message below as my own proof of concept. The moderator [my hat is off to Mr. Hill for taking this on] make inherently personal judgments as to what is appropriate for the audience at large.
Yes there have been some overly vibrant exchanges in the past. However, the intellectual foundations of these exchanges have been honest, captivating, challenging, infuriating, and inspiring. I am sorry that certain members of this community have allowed language to interfere with concept and have chosen to depart. I'll miss Derek and the rest of you as I will likely do the same for diametrically opposite reasons.

I promptly rejected a post on "list moderation," feeling that topic is not
about IA.
However, a second thought, engendered by the aggrieved poster, is that the
group (subscribers) certainly deserve a say in what takes place on the list.
So I have encouraged that person to re-post.
