Word HTML is regarded poorly in some circles because it adds lots of extra
mark-up tags that some consider to be 'rubbish'.  They certainly do increase
file size.

Microsoft have kindly provided a Word HTML clean-up tool for Office 2000,
which claims to remove the above.

Similar clean-up tools are also included in some web authoring programs.
