Bursty and Hierarchical Structure in Streams, John Kleinberg

I'd been thinking about this paper recently. Ive wanted to implemet its
approach for a while, and just the other day I was wondering if it would
be a useful tool for getting my head around the way the discussion on this
list has changed over time, in terms of who has been contributing and in
terms of topics. I've been thinking along these lines for a while in
order to characterise other streams of text data, particularly news wire
material.
