[Sigia-l] Examples Sought

Very specific scenario:
+ Company site almost justified in being 'brochureware' (for now) as they
are still finalizing patents etc.
+ Very 'low transaction' environment (think oil drilling rigs...not everyone
needs one)
+ High complexity information to be conveyed (engineering-specific as would
be oil drilling technology)
Any examples lying around of site you've seen that have done a good job of
presenting information in chunks to truly leverage online vs. print as a
medium for informing clients? [This is clearly a situation where 'visual'
design has more potential impact than most IA-related contributions.]
Examples don't have to be 'engineering' products, but exchanging messages
about a commodity like M&Ms is definitely different than conveying
differentiators about a new technological approach to an existing
engineering discipline (like say if it were extracting oil without
drilling). Any companies who have helped convey a 'paradigm' shift on their
home page?
Thanks!
