[Sigia-l] top user experience design agencies and gurus

[agency recommendations]

I am working on compiling a list of top agencies and consultants to be 
considered for a large User Experience and Design project that will consist 
in architecting and designing the user interface of a large web application 
that will be actively used by a base of several thousands B2B users (paying 
members).

I need advice as to which top agencies and consultants should be considered 
for this project given that:
1) they need to be specialized in user-centered IA & Design specifically for 
web ASP tools/apps (as opposed to sites)
2) they need to have a significant portfolio of large similar projects done 
for large paying clients to back it up.
3) I'm looking for recognized gurus - not highly-motivated-up-and-coming 
talents.
4) (optional) It would be a huge plus if they also have experience in 
designing online tools for marketers.

IMPORTANT: I'm asking for an UNBIASED opinion of who the top people are 
given the 4 requirements above. Any self publicity (including disguised self 
publicity) or recommendations that don't fit the requirements above will not 
be considered. My ideal would be to hear from real people who actually hired 
these people in the past for similar projects and loved their work product.
