Yes, I've always favoured right-hand side navigation personally, and partly
for that reason (it's also allows the content to download first with many
natural ways of constructing such pages, is closer to the scrollbar, matches
a read-content-then-go-elsewhere usage pattern to LTR reading, and brings
content earlier in the tab order without the use of tabindex.

Out of interest, does anyone know if left-hand side or right-hand side is
most common in RTL documents?
