It is always fun to see these kinds of discussions, errupting from no
where, and I can't hold myself back and not getting on the band wagon. I
tend to absorb more for my general knowledge than about the core issue of
discussion but that is alright. I have read all the posts just for the
spacial effects :)
I am just wondering if we have drawn any line yet. I don't see anybody is
dead against the intent of this discussion. In my opinion somebody who has
the wisdom of defining things must step up and atleast define the loosely
connected words - Standards, Formats, Methods, Principles, Processes, etc.
I think the reason for us slipping all over -- from 'nut bolts', to
'relativity', to 'HTML' is the problem of not knowing where we stand...
and it often hurts people who seek respect out of their opinions. I would
expect somebody who strongly advocate about the 'standarding' to try
standardising on the definitions.
Reading all these posts are experience like watching 'Lord of the ring
-3', without waching the first 2 of the triology. You can still enjoy it
for 'special effects', but will wonder, as I am, about that whole fuss
about ring, monsters/aligns, volcanos, etc.
Just my humble opinion,
Prady
