Hi everyone:
I have an open role for a Senior IA in the Boston area. So either must be a
local candidate or someone willing to be local for the duration of the
project - 6 months. Overall project is an Enterprise Content Mgmt project
for a large FS client of ours. 5 person team - PM,BA, Tech Lead,IA and
Senior Engineer. IA role is described below and if you know of anyone that
may fit other roles - please let me know. Dominant tool will be Documentum
Define and develop organizing principles, hierarchies and processes;
translate requirements into schematics; map out features and functions for
all user segments.
The Information Architect's role is to help keep the focus on the end user,
to ensure a project's relevance to its audience, and to optimize its
usability for maximum business impact. An Information Architect has a
granular involvement with the day-to-day operation of a project, and must be
logical, detail-oriented, and actively communicate with all members of the
project team. Depending on the project, an Information Architect may take
responsibility and ownership of specific project segments, such as the
wireframe, or with specific project functions, such as documentation.
Competencies:
Mastery of:
The principles of Usability and Information Architecture, including recent
research and thinking on the subject and current best practice
The ability to analyze functionality in terms of business processes
An ability to visualize and diagram complex processes
Communication and presentation
Microsoft Office and other widely used software, Visio
Expertise with an ability to design, structure, conduct, and interpret user
testing
Working knowledge of:
Cross-platform, cross-browser, and cross-medium issues
Current front-end technologies (CGI, DHTML, XHTML, XML, XSLT, TagLibs,
Javascript, CSS, Java Server Pages), including their strengths and
limitations
The demands and limitations of current backend technologies
The creative process, and of the principles, terminology, and tools of
graphic design
