Please note that the section under discussion in the book Ziya hasn't
read is titled "The Dream Team," and is clearly presented as a
thought-experiment in what might happen in some contexts in the
future...so, of course it's debatable :-)

Nope... that is just a bitter pill. You must swallow it with lot of
water.
Nobody dis-regard the 'Information Architecture' as a role in building
the information space. Rather it all done by all kind of people wheather
they call themself Interface Designer, Usability Experts, User
Experience specialists, or Information Architects themself. The root
cause of contention has been that some percieve "information
Architecture" accompasing so many domians as pure "marketing" and
"political" gimmic.
Don't get me wrong too. I am in the same noble profession myself, but I
feel that the Chapter 15 of the holly book that we quoted, is really
debatable.
