Be careful not to equate development process and end product.

Here we're talking about limitations of some digital development tools
(i.e., Visio) in a process which is ideally about collaborative
visualization. 

These are the tools which we use to make the products which we deliver.
These deliverable products may indeed be considered tools as well, but they
are a different type of tool, for a different process.

In other words, we're not "selling" Visio, and whiteboards and post-its may
not work well as alternatives to the tools we are creating.
