[Sigia-l] sharePoint for search

I'm curisous, from a systems/IT perspective, was the rest of the companies
NOS infrastructure moved to Windows 2003 server with Sharepoint or was it
done in a piecemeal fashion.  If it was an entire migration/upgrade was this
a planned upgrade upon letting the previous licensing depreciate or was it a
monumental decision based on a perceived need to use Sharepoint as the
platform from the CIO, CEO or some top level person?  So, in other words,
was this a decision based on a natural progression or is it a new toy?
