The e-mail list is back up. They were down for about 1½ days. This is the 
second time in about as many weeks. All messages sent to the lists should 
now go through, and will appear in the respective list archives in any case.

We have taken steps to prevent, we hope, a recurrence. We have gone to 
redundant servers so we can easily and quickly switch when there are problems.
And we are changing operating systems, going to a new Linux version that 
should provide warnings and alerts when such problems occur. Until now we 
did not know about malfunctions as ASIS&T headquarters always got all mail, 
even from the lists.

Because the mail sent by the servers is held for a week if the domain is 
not recognized, we did not know there were problems. And for different 
reasons, that has been the crux of both instances -­ we get all mail, but 
no asis.org domain could send mail, which includes this list.
