[Sigia-l] We could just use whiteboards instead.

Yes, I know it depends on the phase of the project, time and budget
constraints, and how high-tech you want to be, but for the quick and dirty,
requirements drive-out, low fidelity prototyping tool, the white board (or
its newer digital cousins) and a small, properly configured team are hard to
beat.... now if that doesn't stir the tool debate a bit.... so, as long as
you are not trying to make a tool do something it was never meant for, give
me a white board or a very simple diagramming tool (what Visio was
originally designed for, way back when).
I have been trying to stay out of this one, but I still think it all comes
down to what you are trying to accomplish with a tool and who/what/where/
and why you are trying to communicate it to. Different tool for different
purposes. Sometimes you just need something fast to crank out something
conceptual.... Visio may not be the ultimate IA tool, but used for what it
was originally intended, it really isn't as bad as it is being made to
sound, and probably runs a close second to many digital white boards for
many purposes.
