I've used inspiration ... Went back to Visio for one simple reason. ...
I can use Visio for both maps and wireframes. 
The pack of GUI widgets (I deal in apps not content) that Visio comes w/ is
also very compelling. Visio 2003 even comes w/ WinXP type controls.

Then there is the programability of Visio. The ability to embed it into a
word document as is and have it linked instead of ad hoc so that changes to
the visio are maintained in the word doc, etc. etc.
