Uh, in 1952? Or was it 1998? Can't remember. :-)
That's all fine. What I am saying is that *if* I wanted to change a large
company (its culture, way of doing business, structure, etc) in the most
effective way, I sure wouldn't start the job as an IA/ID/UXD/etc. That is,
someone like the CEO could have more impact on a company's direction before
breakfast than an IA/ID/UXD/etc can over years. Does that necessarily mean
the latter shouldn't even try? If you know the price, limits and the
consequences, and can live with the results, why not? At the end of the day,
statistically speaking, you might realize that you can make a better/faster
difference in an organization that can absorb it better, and that would be a
small org, exceptions not withstanding.
