Why don't such "portal" exist for Information Architects, as information
architects agree that such a "centralized" architecture would be
amazing? After all if I want to go out "shopping" for an Information
Architect would be such a Portal a decision support system for most
employers? Imagine all people that work someway or another with IA
around the globe listed, wouldn't that be amazing.

Better still, each one within the field could state their hourly fees
and or year earnings as it an important point when you go out to
shopping "shoes" for some people.

We could "group" people by skills, experience, geographical location etc
etc. The information could be intertwined with in-depth articles made by
the same Information Architects or subsidiary disciplines listed in the
"catalogue", etc etc.

Of course it would be just a site, but couldn't it be a start? Wouldn't
it be a great way to promote such kind of vision?

As to build such a system, money would be need, we would have to think
about how to make business model so that the project could be
maintained. Maybe an "advertising" (some organizations would probably be
interested) model quota based model could be implemented. Or we could
just get free bucks from the state to build it.

I don't know yet what is the depth of this thread, but if it has any
depth people agreeing or defending this vision should be prepared to
test it in their own backyard IMHO (with RDF or no RDF)

Think big, act local.

Best regards,

Nuno Lopes
