I don't see a direct correlation between having all information in one site
and making good decisions. In fact, it can be argued that this would, in the
long run, lead to biased/bad decision making. Distributed thinking trumps
central planning pretty much any time.

Well, that's very different from the crazy notion of collecting all info in
one site. We already have many examples of the latter, from screen scrapers
to RSS aggregators to XML readers to search engines to custom apps, all over
the place. First/best popularized by Sherlock/Watson, perhaps.
