I was one of those witnesses. I was living in Saskatoon and the
conference was twenty minute walk from my place (lived my whole life
in Saskatchewan until two and a half years ago).

Tim Bray was also there giving one of his early talks on XML. Access
'98 was the first time I met Lou and Rich (and Tim, for that
matter).

I felt compelled to mention this since I'm one of the few (only?)
Saskatchewan-ites on this list. I suspect most of you--though I
would love to be proven wrong--probably don't know where Saskatoon
is.
