I've not come across it in corporate sites myself (doesn't mean it's not 
there however - I don't do a lot of corporate work at the scale where DC 
would be useful).

I've seen government and educational sites use it (e.g. in the UK the 
Curriculum Online <http://metadata.ngfl.gov.uk/> & NC Online 
<http://www.nc.uk.net/metadata/> use Dublin Core.)

Depends on the search engine I guess. I've only used DC in the context of 
specialised portals, where the answer was "there are no limits".
