RESEARCH PROJECT INTO THE WORK PRACTICES OF INFORMATION ARCHITECTS

We (Toni Robertson and Sam Harvey from UTS) are looking for people who
have a current job description of Information Architect (or who consider
themselves Information Architects) who would be willing to participate in
a research project into the work practices of Information Architects.

Participation is as painless as we can make it - one or both of us want
to interview you for about an hour.

We are doing this study because people who are called Information
Architects appear to do many different kinds of work. This can result in
very different design methods being used. It can also mean that
professional training opportunities for those wishing to work as
Information Architects need to be rethought.

We are especially interested in the relations between specific design
methods and the role of 'traditional' HCI tools, techniques and issues in
these methods. We aim to identify the relevance of usability and HCI
issues to the work of Information Architects. We also want to know about
the range of skills and experience that people working as Information
Architects bring to their work.

If you are willing to contribute this research please email me at
toni at it.uts.edu.au.

Confidentiality is assured, and our results will be shared with all
participants.

Thanks - (and if you know any IAs who might be willing to contribute
please pass this email on to them)

Toni
