As a strategist, I work closely with designers so that I can not only
suggest solutions to design problems, but I also help to develop strategies
that designers can continue to work and develop (or design) to.

Strategy can encompass Brand and Business, and I would warrant that it
should combine them both in any situation needing a design solution.

I think it would take a combination of efforts, research and analysis by all
parties to influence the forming of a solid, relevant and executable
strategy.
