[Sigia-l] Useful Splash Screens

Hi gang,

I have a client who is convinced that a splash screen for their web site is
a necessary evil.  If it turns out that I'm unsuccessful in convincing them
otherwise, what would you suggest are some ways we could make the splash
screen useful.  The site is for a nursing home facility.  The audience is
primarily the family and friends of nursing home residents or potential
residents.

I appreciate your thoughts and experience!
