Which was the reason for my aside re: 'user engineering' :-)

Anyhow, the reason why I'm harping on this is that a few years ago I wrote
an app that had to be localized into a couple of other languages. Language
variants had to be stored as string resources of roughly similar length. And
I had this precise issue (Language/Other) as a single word that would crop
up in many places where it was less than ideal to have a descriptive phrase.

C'est la vie, as the 'internationals' would say :-)
