Not sure if it counts as a good example :), but I've been playing with
these issues with a kids email project I'm working on
(http://www.mail4mykids.com - look at the "how it works" page for some
email samples). Basically it does parent-approved filtering of email
--- the trick is to try and make life super-easy for the parent by
allowing them to evolve a whitelist from within their email client.
It's in beta now, and in practice the interface works very well.
Effectively NOBODY uses the text ("reply to this email") interface;
they all opt for the embedded HTML form. This presents a bit of a
conflict for me --- I'd love to dump the text interface because it's
cumbersome and not terribly usable, but it does have the really
powerful advantage of working with offline clients.
Still working out stuff like this; hope it's helpful, and would love
to hear thoughts from the list as well.
