Colleagues --

Instead of using GIF or JPG, I recommend using the format called PNG.
(Pronounced "ping.") It stands for "Portable Network Graphics."

PNG is a lossless compression format for images that's supported by most
Web browsers now, as well as apps like Visio, Word, PowerPoint. Here's the
URL for more info on PNG:

   http://www.libpng.org/pub/png/

When inserting graphics into Word or PowerPoint, I HIGHLY recommend PNG.
Not only does the image scale very well, but the image looks great when
printed (which is typically 300 dpi or higher vs. 72 dpi, the more common
resolution for GIFs and JPGs).

When doing reports, esp. reporting the results of usability tests where I
include screenshots, I use SnagIt to capture the image of the screen &
crop it, then save it in PNG.

Visio also supports saving images in PNG.

Regards,
Anthony
