Hey There PeterV, It seems like a very powerful concept provided that it
gets widely adopted and is easy to implement.
I knew a guy who was working on a similar concept (on a more granular level,
& for Java based software architectures) to allow one transaction based site
map the data it receives from another site to its own classification scheme.
He called it "domain mapping." An example of its practical use was mapping
credit reporting data (from say, a TRW or Dunn & Bradstreet site) to the
Java Objects (at node and/or leaf levels) in your own B 2 B commodities
trading engine.
Any one care to share knowledge of similar "domain mapping" tools being
utilized in web-enabled software applications?
