[Sigia-l] Premium Content

Hello List,
I'm looking for examples of IA and design being used to promote premium content on sites or online information products. E.g., nytimes.com making their archive searchable, and providing abstracts for articles that are accessible for a fee. Or Hoovers.com using icons to denote what is free and what's "locked up." Or Classmates.com telling you how many of your classmates are listed in their service and even who, but locking their contact info.

Also, is anyone aware of a list of online content providers that have shifted to a subscription model in the past few years?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!
