I'd say that I've taken a slightly unusual academic route into IA. I graduated
with a degree in Biological Basis of Behavior with a thesis on the effect of
sleep deprivation on human memory. It's very similar to neurobehavioral
sciences.

"Biological Basis of Behavior is an interdisciplinary major in which students
explore the relationship between behavior (both human and animal) and its
organic bases."

Check out http://www.psych.upenn.edu/bbb/ for more details.

At the moment, I'm doing interaction design establishing intranet standards
for my client.

Cheers,
Hooman
