I use Analog (http://www.analog.cx) which is blindingly fast, runs on
many platforms and is Free (gratuit and libre). It can create custom log
outputs and will dump to a machine readable format. The default html
output isn't pretty but can be customised or you can run it through
Report Magic (http://www.reportmagic.org/).

For user tracking I use mod_usertrack under Apache.

This message on the Analog list exaplisn, roughly, how to set up Analog
to do user tracking.

It might take a bit more effort but it's infinitely flexible and a very
powerful tool to use when you've got the hang of it. And speed of
processing was invaluable for large scale sites.
