In our case we settled on "basic" and "detailed" searching. There was some 
thought that "simple" vs. "advanced" made "advanced" sound too scary, when in 
fact most people probably would get more satisfactory results were they to use 
the "detailed" options. 

We had a lot of discussion about what people think 'simple' and 'advanced' mean 
as a result of which we also concluded these terms were far too ambiguous to be 
helpful to users who are trying to select appropriate tools - the more so since 
in my experience most users self-select into either too 'simple' or 
too 'advanced' a group.
