I. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
JOB SUMMARY -
The E-Commerce Information Architect will be responsible for working with
the business to organize and implement e-commerce web activities and content
into easy to use, intuitive web page designs. This position will
responsible for user experience enhancements that will generate $100MM or
more in incremental revenue for the direct e-commerce internet channel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -
- Define content organization, nomenclature and navigation systems for
web sites to maximize user experience and overall site effectiveness.
- Design and implement user-centered design processes to structure
large, e-commerce and content-focused web sites
- Interpret user requirements
- Conduct task analyses
- Conduct heuristic evaluations
- Work with cross-functional teams throughout the development process
II. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Education -
Degree in Human Factors Psychology, Instructional Design or related field
(preferred) or 5+ years experience in related field.
- Experience -
Typically 4+ years experience with project management, budgeting, or similar
business skills background. Experience designing or evaluating graphical
user interface (GUI) design a plus.
- Technical skills -
Ability to distill and organize large amounts of complex information into
intuitive site maps and navigation systems. Ability to understand marketing
objectives and design information architectures for web sites to achieve
them. Advanced usability testing and research skills. Analyzing and
reporting test results. Working knowledge of web protocols and technologies
such as HTML, DHTML, JavaScript. GUI layout/design experience a plus
- Management - 2 Years
- Communication Skills -
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to effectively
manage multiple activities in a dynamic environment. Strong interpersonal
skills and customer relationships. Exceptional organizational ability.
Solid client and team leadership skills
- Special Requirements Specific to Job -
Understanding of Internet development process. Understanding of user
experience modeling and human factors testing. Familiarity and experience
with panel based usability testing tools (e.g., Vividence, Relevant View) a
plus.
