Colleages,
I'm looking for examples of well executed site search engines. I realize
that a search engine is only one supplemental navigation system, and that
their effectiveness must be interpreted in light of the fact that many users
may not use the best search terms or strategies. Given these
considerations, can anyone refer me to any site search engines that fit any
of
these criteria:
do a particularly good job of prompting the searcher to narrow his/her
search to specific search zones on the site
seem to retrieve relevant results
appear to be well cross referenced - that is, they retrieve "refrigerator"
when a user searches on the term "ice box"
