[Sigia-l] Thought I might elicit some responses

Man what a cool email address you have! I've only ever seen your name in
outlook.

I thought I'd be able to rely on my support and systems background for work
but even that isn't panning out. So unless I want to start out exactly
where I began,on the phones for a software company, this seems to be the
best bet. I too might have to fall back on my bartending skills till I get
the call from the union, though :)

Thanks for the support!

On a more serious note ...

Sean, I think your worries are real, if that is what you are asking us.
The recent balk by Worldcom and Global Crossings, as well as the
airlines are all signs of tough times right now. If you have other
trades to fall back on (I think there was a thread on this or similar
list of people in NYC talking about bartending) I say take it. Don't
stay unemployed if you don't have to, just to hold onto a career track
that well quite honestly isn't economically viable unless you already
have a job.

These jobs will be the last hires in most companies that are recovering
and will be the first to go at the companies whose recoeveries are
failing.
