Florence said: I believe that IA has EVERYTHING to do with software
development (systems or products) - web or non-web platform. An Information
Architect ought to be on every software development team.

Thanks Florence for reiterating this song I've been singing since the
beginning of SIGIA. This conversation has again, however (illustrated by
George's comment about breadth of 'content), illustrated the need for us to
recognize our own skill divisions between 'finding' and 'doing'. In this era
of 'unemployment' I just went through a scenario where we could not hire any
candidates because they lacked specific experience in designing for 'doing'
on large scale corporate projects. Going back to the Peter and Jesse
distinctions, perhaps it is the division between Information and Interaction
architecture. That said, we still have a lot of overlap to share and this is
still undisputedly the most active discussion list out there for 'our
types'. We just need to recognize that we're sharing the sandbox.

So just recognize that when you see the term IA, it might mean Information
Architecture and it might mean Interaction Architecture. Collectively
selling either at this point will get us both further faster; selling both
for every engagement is a definite 'win-win'.
