[Sigia-l] ConceptDraw vs MindMapper

Haven't used MindMapper, but have used ConceptDraw...

Maybe I'm stating the obvious, but perhaps the best (and maybe only) good
thing about ConceptDraw to me is that it has a Mac and PC version which
Visio lacks. Also, off the ConceptDraw website you can download a
ConceptDraw-Visio converter that works pretty well. Visio is much better,
but if you're working with Mac folks, it's a decent tool to have.

I've been using Concept Draw for over a year, but not Mind Mapper, though I
think they're using similar interfaces & graphics engines.

I've been using it with a Macintosh and for the last six-nine months in OS
X... I'd have to say the printing capabilities are still a little rough
around the edges. The linking features are pretty strong, though...and it
can export nice (though large) pdf files that retain the hyperlinks.

It's not an easy program, though...it's pretty complex, and still needs
refinement for ease of use and stability. (It's still a version 1 product,
after all)

If you're using Mac OS X you may be better off with Omni Graffle, though I
don't recall right away what linking features it has. It creates probably
the most presentable/printable/beautiful diagrams I've seen. But it too is a
young product in its dev cycle.
