In my experience, interdisciplinary teams are a great way to go. To
make this approach work efficiently, it's also important for the
team to preserve the various roles within the group while facilitating
collaboration.
So, an IA might receive feedback from the visual designer, the PM, and the
account manager, but the IA would have final say on IA issues. Same goes
for the other roles. This approach avoids "design by committee" while
paving the way for the various roles to work in concert.
