If I were feeling adventurous today, I'd predict that we're in for a tsunami
of (re)classification and (re)standardization in just about any
topic/industry in the next 2-5 years due to the arriving of web services/XML
phenomenon. Of course, this will/could be made 'easier' by few large players
quite willing and able to dictate their notion of 'standardized
classification'  in the name of progress. So hold your breath :-)
