[Sighfis-l] SIG HFIS call for nominations - due Sept. 23

Greetings SIG HFIS members,

     We're looking forward to seeing many of you at the Annual Meeting in
Montreal; HFIS' meeting will be Mon. 11/4, 5-6pm.  SIG HFIS has one
elective office - Chair-elect - and for this office nominations are now
open.

The SIG HFIS Bylaws call for a Nominating Committee to be appointed which
shall conduct an election at least ten weeks before the Annual Meeting and
for the Nominating Committee to distribute a ballot six weeks before the
Annual Meeting. We have assembled this Nominating Committee, and now we
call upon you to send in your nominations via email (
sarahab[at]utexas.edu), due in a week, on Mon., September 23.
Self-nominations are welcome.
Special thanks to Lai Ma, who will become Chair at our Montreal meeting,
and Past Chair Kathryn La Barre.

At this time I'd also like to call for expressions of interest for the
SIG's appointed officers: Secretary, and Webmaster.

We have several good activities (and a budget!) planned for this next year,
so I look forward to hearing from you.
