Greetings,

As outgoing chair of HFIS, I'm pleased to announce the results of the HFIS
officer election. Please join with me in welcoming Lai Ma as our new
chair-elect! Sarah Buchanan will assume chairmanship of HFIS at the annual
meeting. Sarah has just informed me that this Fall, she began her doctoral
studies at the University of Texas at Austin.

As you make final preparations for the annual meeting (with early bird
registration closing on Friday, September 7th)  I wanted to send out a list
of events that may be of special interest to HFIS members: (Note: We don't
have a list of other governance sessions yet - such as the SIG cabinet
meeting and cabinet luncheon.> but we have scheduled our business meeting
for Monday at noon).
