Greetings,
I'm the outgoing chair for SIG/HFIS, and we'll be welcoming Sarah Buchanan
as the incoming chair (2012-2013). In preparation for the ASIS&T annual
meeting this year I'd like to draw your attention to one remaining
administrative item. At the annual meeting in October, we need to present
our slate of officers to ASIS&T HQ, and our plan for 2012-2013.

Thus, I'm calling for nominations and expressions of interest for those who
wish to run for the following position: Chair (2013-2014).
The person elected to the position of chair-elect would serve on the
advisory board for HFIS and assist with conference planning - mainly
panel/paper development for submissions. Please contact
klabarre at illinois.edu with expressions of interest or nominations. I
anticipate holding the election beginning August 1. Please contact me
before that date if you would like to run, or to nominate someone.

This is the slate of current officers. Chair and Chair-elect are elected
positions, the rest are appointed. I'd like to thank everyone for their
hard work this year, especially with the preparations for the ASIS&T 75th
anniversary celebrations, and the History of ASIS&T and Information Science
and Technology Worldwide preconference scheduled on Saturday, October 27,
2012, Full Day 9:00am-5:00pm

Kathryn La Barre <klabarre at illinois.edu>, Chair (2011-2012)
Sarah Bucnanan <sarahab at ucla.edu>, Chair-Elect (will assume Chairmanship at
the annual meeting 2012).
Jonathan Furner <jfurner at ucla.edu>, Communications
Lai Ma <lama at indiana.edu>, Secretary/Treasurer
Thomas Haigh <thaigh at uwm.edu>, Webmaster
Julian Warner <j.warner at qub.ac.uk>, Past Chair
