[Sighfis-l] Martha Williams has passed away

We just learned that Martha Williams has passed away.  Martha was President
in 1987, edited ARIST for 25 years, won the Award of Merit in 1984 and the
Watson Davis Award in 1995.

We just received word of Martha Williams' death.

Here is the obituary posted at the funeral home web site:

Martha E. Williams 72, devoted daughter of the late Harold and Alice Fox
Williams; fond sister of Rosemary "Mickey" (James) DeMore, Maudie (Robert)
Bremer, David (Karen) and the late Daniel (Patricia) Williams; dear aunt of
Kristin, David, Daniel, Carolyn, and Lisa. Martha graduated from Woodlands
Academy of the Sacred Heart, Barat College and received her Masters from
Loyola University. She was a tenure professor at University of Illinois at
Champaign - Urbana. Martha was highly recognized as a Computer Database
Specialist and the editor of Annual Review of Information Science and
Technology . Founder of both Gale Directory of Databases and Information
Market Indicators (IMI). 
Visitation Sunday 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. funeral Monday 9:15 a.m. from
Donnellan Family Funeral Home, 10045 Skokie Blvd. at Old Orchard Rd. Skokie
to St. Francis Xavier Church, 9th and Linden, Wilmette. Mass 10:00.
Interment All Saints Cemetery Des Plaines. 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Woodland Academy of the Sacred
Heart, 760 E. Westleigh Rd. Lake Forest, IL 60045
