Folks: when Trudi Bellardo Hahn did her recent ASIS&T Bulletin article
on "What has IS contributed to the World?" I promised her that I would
try to keep the discussion going in some way. The result is a Web page
that reproduces her article and now contains 4 reactions to her paper.
Please take a look at it at: http://www.libsci.sc.edu/bob/istindex.htm
and please consider joining in the discussion. You can do this by
responding to this note (that way others will see what you say and it
may stimulate them as well) or send to me directly at: bobwill at sc.edu

Also, I have finally managed to get the link fixed for viewing the
Termatrex video that a former student and I did several years ago. You
can also link to it from this same general page, which includes links to
the other information on the history of IST. I am working on updates of
the chronology of IST and a new version of the bibliography of the
history of IST and hope to have those up before long. Hope your summer
is going well.

PS: Trudi and Charles Bourne's book on the history of online is hot off
the MIT Press! Order your copy now and Trudi promises to sign it at the
next ASIS&T meeting (or, as soon as she finishes her worldwide book
tour!).
